Gladstone’s Library’s Writer-in-Residence, Stella Duffy, has been finding out. She has recently taken part in a new anthology, entitled ‘Litmus: Short Stories from Modern Science’ which has brought together 17 fiction writers and 16 academic scientists to try and create stories around some of the great scientific discoveries which have been previously neglected in literature.
Stella’s story contains Hermann Minkowski's invention of the concept of space-time which was proposed by her scientific advisor, Dr Robert Appleby, a lecturer in the high-energy particle physics group at the University of Manchester.
