Terms & Conditions

Rates: All prices are in £ sterling and are inclusive of dinner, bed and continental breakfast (except for B&B rate). All course fees are inclusive of tuition fees. We accept VISA/MASTERCARD/MAESTRO. Please make cheques payable to 'Gladstone's Library'.

Deposits for Accommodation: A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £25.00 is required for each individual booking. For group bookings, we require a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £35.00 per person.

"Room only" deposits for Conference Rooms: Full payment is required at the time of booking for each “room only” conference booking.

Day Conferences: A non-refundable and non-transferable deposit of £10.00 per person is payable for day conferences. 24hrs notice is required for any change in the number of particicpants. In the case of later cancellation, groups will be charged for all the booked participants.

Payment of Accounts: Outstanding group/conference accounts should be settled within 30 days. For all individual room accounts, the balance of payment is due on departure.

Availability: All bookings are subject to availability and are accepted at the Warden's discretion. The Warden reserves the right to cancel, modify or terminate a reservation without notice or reason. Please note that only one special offer may be used per booking. Special offers are not valid in conjunction with courses unless explicitly stated.

Cancellation Fees: Please note that if a booking is cancelled with 7 days notice or more, there will be no charge but the deposit will be retained. If a booking is cancelled with less than 7 days notice, the full amount due for the accommodation/conference room booked will be payable. Please ensure that you have adequate insurance to cover a cancellation or a curtailed stay.

Car Parking: Car parking is available in the car park. We cannot accept responsibility for any loss of or damage to vehicles or contents and parking is entirely at the owner's risk.

Lost Keys: £15 will be added to the main account for any lost room keys.

Time of Arrival and Departure: Please aim to arrive by 5pm and advise us if you expect to arrive after that time so that Reception can notify the duty member of staff. As Reception is not open 24 hours a day, we cannot guarantee that a member of staff will be available after 7pm. It is, therefore, imperative that you inform us by 5pm if you are unavoidably delayed and cannot arrive before 7pm. No arrivals are permitted after 10pm. Please note that dinner cannot be kept for late arrivals. Rooms should be vacated and accounts paid by 10am on the day of departure.

Special Diets: We are able to cater for most dietary needs and allergies at Gladstone's Library. Please ensure that all such requirements are clearly indicated on the booking form and when you check in on arrival. While every care is taken to make sure that suitable meals are provided, the kitchen staff are not specialists in the management of special diets and allergies and we cannot guarantee the suitability of every meal in this respect nor accept responsibility for any illness/injury which may arise due to allergies.

Suggest Donation: A suggested donation to Gladstone's Library of £3 per day will be added to all residential invoices. This enables us to keep our basic rates low whist encouraging those who can pay more to do so. The donation may be amended or removed from the invoice on request. It can be gift-aided on the invoice by all UK income tax and Capital Gains tax payers. For every donation of £1, Gift Aid will currently enable us to reclaim an extra 28p.

Data Protection: Gladstone's Library keeps details of the names and addresses of guests in our bookings computer database. Customers may receive a copy of all information held on their record on request. The data is not sold or divulged to outside parties.
